Comparative genomic data of pyrococcal genomes was released
We analyzed the relationships among all genes/ORFs between Pyrococcus horikoshii OT3 and the following organisms and the results were incorporated into the DOGAN.
  • Pyrococcus abyssi GE5
  • Pyrococcus furiosus DSM 3638
  • Thermococcus kodakarensis KOD1
  • The entire genome of Pyrococcus horikoshii OT3 was re-annotated
    We re-annotated Pyrococcus horikoshii OT3 and updated the features of P. horikoshii genome in DOGAN database.
    Sulfolobus tokodaii strain 7 database was updated (We changed coordinates of rRNA and tRNA genes and deleted several overlapped ORFs)

    A new function for displaying clone information on the Aspergillus oryzae RIB40 genome
    We added a new function to the DOGAN for displaying the information of the microbial genomic DNA clones distributed from the NBRC. You can search for the clone covering your target gene(s) of Aspergillus oryzae RIB40 at the DOGAN.

    Comparative genomic data of staphylococcal genomes was released
    Hundreds of microbial genomes have already been completely sequenced including those analyzed at NITE. To further enhance the usefulness of the results of genome analysis, we added a new feature to the DOGAN to present comparative genomics data. We analyzed the relationships among all genes/ORFs in the five staphylococcal genomes and the results were incorporated into the DOGAN. You can compare genes/ORFs in the genomes and get the syntenic regions or points of possible genomic rearrangements displayed in the dotplot viewer.

    The entire genome of Aeropyrum pernix K1 was re-annotated
    We re-annotated Aeropyrum pernix genome and published the new set of genes. Some of them were modified by the proteome result.

    We have analyzed the proteome of Aeropyrum pernix K1 by using the following methods; two-dimensional PAGE followed by MALDI-TOFMS, one-dimesional SDS-PAGE in combination with two-dimensional LC-MS/MS, multi-dimensional LC-MS/MS and 2D-PAGE followed by N-terminal amino acid sequencing.

    Release of the Aspergillus oryzae genomic sequence data
    Genome analysis of Aspergillus oryzae RIB40 has been carried out in collaboration with the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) and other members of the A. oryzae Genome Analysis Consortium and the resultant genomic sequence data are now released. At the same time, cross-reference information concerning the eight archaeal and bacterial genomes published in DOGAN has newly been included by linking them with the data contained in DDBJ, EMBL, GenBank and UniProt.

    Important notice and apology
    A serious error in a sequence file was discovered that has been left unnoticed for nine months. Those who downloaded regional nucleotide sequences of Staphylococcus aureus MW2 during the period starting October 2004 till June 2005 were found to have mistakenly acquired unrelated sequences. We deeply apologize to all DOGAN users for the inconvenience.

    The complete genome sequence of Staphylococcus haemolyticus JCSC1435 was released
    NITE has completely sequenced and analyzed the genome of the Staphylococcus haemolyticus JCSC1435 in collaboration with Prof. K. Hiramatsu and his colleagues at the Juntendo University.
