| Vacancy Position: Research Staff for Constructing a Database |

2. Classification:
Project named "Constructing a database of filamentous fungi ribosomal
DNA sequences."
3. Qualification:
(1) Ph. D degree holders or future holders (intend to complete doctoral program), Master degree holders or future holders (intend to complete master's program), and the person who has the skill equal to Ph. D or master degree holders before the starting date in bioinformatics, information processing, or related fields.
(2) Be able to start immediately.
(3) Ability to use C++ (or C) or Perl. A person who has experience in constructing a database is preferred.
4. Work contents:
NITE aims to construct the database which unifies the analyzed information
of ribosomal DNA sequences and bioactive information of filamentous fungi
currently preserved in NBRC. We are looking for researchers who can engage
in the following duties:
(1) Exploration and research of homologous search, alignment, and assembling lineage analysis system based on the ribosomal DNA sequences.
(2) Exploration and research of constructing the database of bioactive information of filamentous fungi strains.
5. Contract term:
September 1, 2008 to March 31, 2009 (the contract might be renewed depends on the performance evaluation)
6. Starting date:
September 1, 2008 (tentative)
7. Benefit package:
Working days: choose one from the followings;
(1)5 days a week,
(2)4 days a week (need to fix working days of a week in advance.)
(3)3 days a week (need to fix working days of a week in advance.)
Working hour: 9:00-18:00
Holidays: Sat, Sun, National holidays, year-end and New Year holidays, paid holidays.
Insurance: If your working days are (1) and (2) above, health insurance, employment insurance, and pension plan (Kousei Nenkin) will be provided. If (3) above, employment insurance will be provided.
Salary: Depends on a salary grade given by the institute, commuter allowance is provided.
